Nemba - Lake Sai

I went there second time. First I went there in this March with my freind. At that time there were a few houses, but now there are 12 houses, and in 2009 there will be more 11 houses rebuild.
Total houses are 23 houses in future.

We ate Soba, it’s very good but very crowded and need to wait
:-( you can see the beautiful special hina dolls, usually hina doll sits on the seat, these hina dolls like a mobile, called tsurushi bina, it means hanging hina dolls with thread.

Today we can see beautiful mount fuji for a very short time because of a little windy day and the cloud cover mount fuji. Many people are coming and take many pictures here.

In 1966 big mudslide hit Nemba ,32 people died
and this village was wiped out. This is one of the only a few survival old house, very old and not colorful but simple. I love it.

Kubo hachiman shrine

Kubo hachiman shrine was started in 859 and the buildings were build around 1550. Wow! about 450 years before?! Amazing!

It's most interesting point of this shrine that have both factor, Shintoism & buddhism.

Normally shrine is for Shintoism and temple is for buddhism.

It's too wide, so I can't be settle in the picture!
The guide board says this is the biggest one in this style, ah, I haven't take a picture, but Torii
(the gate for the shrien) is the oldest wooden one in Japan.
You can see all picutres of Kubo hachiman shrine

Welcome to Kofu Cathoic Church!

Build in 1925, there are 6 icons(set in 1928) and 14 pictures(set in 1927). It’s very exotic mood because here is the contact point between the Japanese and the western culture before the war. very quiet and soft time heal everything. last year it was faced to pull down, but one of the architect try to leave the old church in future. He’s looking for the best way to keep it. I met him yesterday and he introduced here. I often pass in front of Kofu catholic church but never see inside. impressed! Thanks for staying and keeping here!
I want many people come and know here to help to leave it in fee.

Kofu Catholic Church

I went to Kofu Catholic Church yesterday, I'm not christian...sorry, but I've heard this church was built in 1925 and avoided the air-raid fire during the war.
About 1 year ago this old church faced to pull down, one of the architect help to keep this building in future. Now, they still try to find the way to leave it.
I saw his blog, know his campain and rediscover the fascinate of Yamanashi. He loves and introduces the modern buildings(at least they are more 50 years old) in Yamanashi. For me
these buildings are very familiar on my daily basis. My friend who saw and read his blog said,
"The impression of buildings is slightlydifferent from the others definetely. Is it in Kofu? It's cool!"

Ceiling

I thought it was wooden, but seems to be cement?! I don't know well, anyway not wooden.
Lily mean innocence

6 icons are there set in 1928.

Do you find one of icons wear KIMONO?
I'm very surprised ! why did the prist choose him ?
I don't know exactly, but ... maybe the prist preferred obscure martyr.

Quiet and soft time here heal everything.

It's very near from Kofu castle park. 10 minites from Kofu station by walk.

The site of Kofu Castle - English tour

Yesterday I went to Maizurujo Park in Kofu to take special English tour. Kofu castle was very important for the goverment of Ed because Kofu is very close to Ed(former name of Tokyo) and play the role to protect Ed. So Kofu was the direct control place of the goverment of Ed. Now we can see the site of Kofu castle in Maizurujyo park, some of them are restored. The northern part of Kofu station is the redevelopment area now, a few years later we can see other historical restored buildings. I'm looking forward to seeing it!

I passed the Uchimatsukage Mon (The gate of Uchimatsukage) to enter the park.
It takes a few minites by walk from Kofu station.
There are many stone walls in this park, these walls are slightly different version of each period.
At that time there were also hot spirings in the castle. Volunteer guide said, still maybe we can take it at the old Ryokan near the park.
I will try!

Butokuden Palace was build in 1931 . Japanese traditional Yamanashi tournament like Jyudo, Kendo and so on are held here.

When we go up the slope to the top, I find Mount Fuji with first snow. Isn't it beautiful? I think I'm very lucky because I can see mount fuji everyday and the season changing around Yamanashi's nature.
