Hokusai "Fugaku 36 Kei" at Kaijiam

I went to Kaijiam(it's nickname of Yamanashi Prefectual Museum) to see Hokusai's picture: Fugaku 36 Kei.
I didn't know Kaijiam bought them but Local newspaper says there is the special exhibition of Hokusai's pictures without special fee,
of course you have to pay usual admission fee ;-)

I've got a lots of things to know there today,it's a bit embarrassed but I think most of Japanese don't know like me.
I didn't know there are 46 pictures in this "Fugaku 36 kei" series actually. At first there were 36 but added 10.
His composition, color and imagination are really wonderful.
This is A FIRST TIME to see real UKIOE, I'm very proud of it that was born in Japan.

One of my favorite Hokusai's pitcutre is "Koshu Misaka Suimen"
Koshu is old name of Yamanashi area, Misaka is one of the Yamanashi's place name.
Suimen means the water surface.
Hokusai drew Summer Mt.Fuji and the lake. We can see Mt.Fuji mirroed in the lake, but it's Winner Mt.Fuji, it has snow
I heard it once when we go to the same place as Hokusai's drawing spot that we can't see Mt.Fuji.
His imagination and originality create his works.
I should've made a today's special reservation.
I might have created my UKIYOE...

Anyway I'm so lucky to his real UKIYOE near my house.
Please come and see it if you have a time.
I think you have a valuable time with cheaper cost.
Hokusai's special exhibition opens until July 9, 2006(Jun.26,Jul.3 and4 closed)

Yamanashi Prefectual Museum:
you can take by bus from Isawa onsen station (JR Chuo Line)
about 10 minites.
